5 years down the line, I finally decided that it was time to move on from the Dubai chapter and proceed onto the next stage of my life. Dubai was incredible and did wonders for my personal growth and career – how good does international experience look on one’s CV? But despite all the blessings and opportunities, I felt something was missing in my life!

Those close to me would know that I was ready to settle down for a while now and literally waiting for “the one” to show up! I also moved out to Dubai thinking it would be super easy to find a suitable match with so many expats out there and having a Muslim majority, but it just didn’t happen!

Dubai men, I mean I could write a whole series of blog posts about that alone but in a nutshell, I just didn’t find them to be serious enough! Most were out there to have fun and live a little on the wild side – not something I was about at all!

If it wasn’t for my brother-in-law, I wouldn’t have even met my other half! They had a mutual friend, whom the whole introduction happened through! I guess this is what I had been waiting for!

June 2021 – the time I reluctantly handed in my resignation – taking a major leap of faith and praying for the best. Something just felt right and suddenly, Dubai began to feel out of place for me. My heart was set on returning to the UK and the time just felt right!

February 2022 – my husband and I got married at a gorgeous little barn in Hampshire, UK.

Since returning to the the UK, I have been teaching at a local government school again, which I will fill you in all about soon!
